Cummins Filtration launches Fleetguard filter recycling program

Over the past three months, the program has seen more than 50 metric tons of previously landfilled metal being recycled. “As service providers, our customers are already required by government regulations to manage waste oil and filters. This program is built around helping them take it to the next level, to rethink how they manage that waste for the future. Proper filter recycling not only makes their customers feel good about where they do business, but it also keeps our customers ahead of changing government waste management requirements,” explained Matthew Tullai, executive director, marketing and sales at Cummins Filtration. By the end of the year, Cummins Filtration plans to see more than 100 metric tons of previously landfilled steel being recycled. ummins Filtration has officially launched its Fleetguard filter recycling management program – Filtering Change – to reduce the number of metal filter cans and used media elements going to landfill. Filtering Change is an internal recycling management program designed to empower customers to be environmentally responsible. The program is designed to provide customers with the resources and support necessary to successfully integrate filter recycling into their daily operations. Program participants new to recycling can use an extensive directory of qualified recycling management companies to find one that fits their needs. Those already recycling can use the program’s validation process to ensure that their existing company meets the program requirements for being a responsible recycler. A key requirement is that the recycling management company has an audit trail and guarantees that filters and used oil are recycled, not landfilled.

Xylem expands in Russian market with new Moscow base

ylem Inc has opened a new distribution and customer service centre in Moscow, Russia. The company’s expanded presence in Russia will focus on boosting sales and distribution, improving relationships with Russian customers and delivering local customer service, after-sales support, application engineering and training. The Moscow team will concentrate on core markets, including wastewater transport and treatment, energy-efficient heating, ventilation and air conditioning for residential and commercial buildings, and water solutions for light industry, agriculture and irrigation. The company has been doing business in Russia since 2005 through two independent local distributors for its Lowara, Vogel, Leopold, Flygt, Wedeco, Godwin and Sanitaire brands. “The channels to our customers are becoming considerably shorter, and we can now personally accompany our customers on-site throughout the development of projects, offering applications solutions and systems expertise,” said André Dhawan, vice president and general manager of Xylem’s Residential and Commercial Water business in Europe.
