New appointment at Interplastic Corporation Harry Certain has joined the Interplastic Corporation team as gel coat business manager. The company focuses on the production and sale of unsaturated polyester and vinyl ester resins, gel coats, colorants and adhesives and compounds for the composites and cast polymer industries.

Harry will be replacing Jim Luke who is retiring in July. ‘Jim has made a significant contribution to the growth of Interplastic gel coat business which he led for the past 16 years,’ said Bob DeRoma, senior vice president. Harry comes to Interplastic Corporation from 3M where he was a

Arevo announces US$7 million funding Arevo, a specialist in 3D printing of composite materials for production applications, is to receive a US$7 million Series A funding round led by venture capital firm Khosla Ventures. Vijit Sabnis from Khosla Ventures will join the Arevo board of directors. Arevo recently won the Autodesk REAL Deal Start Up competition and has devel-

oped 3D printing products such as a multiaxis robotic additive manufacturing platform, composite material with five times the strength of titanium, and cloud-based software which can improve fiber placement in 3D orientations to derive the highest strength-to-weight ratio. ‘We are pleased to continue our momentum with this important investment round
