This atlas is an excellent, succinct introduction to orthopaedic pathology, covering the topics of metabolic bone disease, tumours and tumour-like conditions. The broad range of topics covered will be of interest and of use to trainees in pathology, orthopaedics and radiology. The format of the book consists of short text sections and accompanying well-presented radiological images, macro- and microscopic photographs. The text sections provide short paragraphs, often presented in point form, of the major features relating to the particular entity, thus emphasising the key points. They are arranged under headings to discuss the characteristic symptoms, clinical signs, major radiographic features, radiographic differential diagnosis, gross and microscopic pathologic differential diagnosis with brief treatment sections. The photographs are of good quality and display the basic radiologic and histologic diagnostic points. The authors and contributors of this atlas have a wealth of experience in orthopaedic diseases and the obvious multi-disciplinary team approach allows for crucial input from orthopaedic surgeons, radiologists and pathologists. This approach results in an excellent concise overview of each topic, allowing some understanding of the salient points important to each involved group. The book offers a great starting point to the complex subject of
