The minutes of the preceding meeting having been read and confirmed, the ’ following were amongst the resolutions passed :Proposed by Dr. LADD, seconded by Mr. LEDGER, and carried unanimously,-" That the secretary pro tem. be empowered to write to the secretaries of Local Medical Registration Associations in and round London, inviting them to join this Association." Proposed by Dr. THORN, seconded by Dr. LADD, and carried unanimously,-" That the subscription of members of this Association be 5s. per annum; and that George Bottomley, Esq., be invited to accept the office of treasurer." Proposed by Mr. COSTER, seconded by Mr. DANSEY, and carried unanimously,-‘That a sub-committee be appointed to draw up an address to the profession, to be submitted to this committee at its next meeting, stating the objects of the Association; and that such committee be Dr. Ladd, Mr. Day, and Dr. Thorn," Proposed by Dr. CROSS, seconded by Dr. KIRBY, and carried unanimously.-" That all practitioners of orthodox medicine who are entitled to be registered under the new Medical Act, be eligible as members of the Association." Proposed by Dr. SMILES, seconded by Mr. A. MARSDEN, and carried unanimously,-‘That a sub-committee be appointed to draw up laws for the Association, to be submitted to the committee at their next meeting, and that such committee consist of Mr. Bottomley, Dr. Routh, Dr. Kirby, Dr. Ladd, and Mr.

It was determined that the Secretary pro tem., after having made the necessary arrangements for the next meeting of the committee, should convene such a meeting of this body, at some convenient time and place, within the ensuing fortnight, for the purposes of considering the laws of the Association, and the address to be issued to the profession, and for other business.

" That the Council be requested, and are hereby empowered, to take such steps as they may deem necessary and judicious for the purpose of assisting the Registrar in carrying out the provisions of the new Medical Act in the counties of Salop and Montgomery; and, with the view of protecting the just professional rights of the legally-qualified practitioners resident therein, that the Council be further authorized to institute, in

the name of the Society, such proceedings against unqualified persons practising in the counties aforesaid, as the solicitor of the Association may advise; and that a special subscription of 5s. (in contradistinction to the current annual amount specified in the 4th General Law) be entered into for defraying the attendant expenses, and that the sum so collected be called the Registration and Protective Fund."
