CECO Environmental wins orders for air pollution control equipment Provider of air pollution control and industrial ventilation systems, CECO Environmental Corp, has won orders totalling approximately US$4.0 million. “These orders were secured by our Kirk & Blum and FisherKlosterman subsidiaries. Kirk & Blum’s order is for equipment that will be installed at a new foreignowned automotive manufacturing facility in the southeastern United States. That order, coupled with one we announced in

August means that we now have commitments for US$5.0 million worth of work at that facility. The Fisher-Klosterman order is for equipment that will be shipped to a petrochemical facility in Taiwan,” commented Rick Blum, president and chief operating officer, CECO Environmental. Phillip DeZwirek, CECO Chairman and chief executive officer added: “In a difficult economic environment, our bookings continue to be

maintained. Bookings through August stand at approximately US$126 million as compared to US$130 million at the same time last year. More significantly, our backlog has remained steady. At the beginning of this year the backlog was approximately US$85 million and at the end of July it was approximately US$84 million. To be able to maintain our revenue stream at this time is very encouraging.” www.cecoenviro.com

Vietnam water treatment plant uses Severn Trent Services RO system

Operation has begun at the Can Gio Water Supply Plant, in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, the city’s first water treatment facility for processing salt water into clean drinking water. The plant, which utilises a reverse osmosis (RO) system from Severn Trent Services, will help reduce water shortages in the Can Gio district of the city, where demand for water has soared in recent years. The plant was constructed by Dang Doan Nguyen Joint Stock Co Construction and represents the largest build/operate/transfer RO project in Vietnam. The Severn Trent Services UAT™ Series BW brackish water RO membrane filtration system will reduce levels of total dissolved solids and suspended matter to serve the drinking water needs of 66,000 district residents. The new facility will supply 5,000 m3/day of potable water. The facility’s

on barges from nearby District 7. The Can Gio plant will help reduce transportation costs and provide an additional water source to the district, which often faces shortages during the dry season.” www.severntrentservices.com
