m_ Building on the success of a perfect couple Expanding on the success of its close coupled pump range, Watson-Marlow Bredel has launched its range of Duplex andTrio pumps. WMB’s Duplex design consists of two pumpheads driven from a single, ultraquiet, sealed-for-life motor/gearbox. The pumps offer the operator an increased flow rate capacity and, if used with a combined discharge, virtually eliminate discharge pulsations. Available in both the 500 and 600 series, the Duplex is ideal for applications where twin channel balanced flow is required, for example, in feed and scavenge to and from a printing press or the balanced feed of two ingredients. Offering flow rates from 0.48 to 2060 ml/min per channel on the 500 series and 0.14 l/min to 16 l/mm per channel on the 600 series, the Duplex is suited to a wide range of industries including chemical, water treatment, food processing, paper, printing, biotechnology, cosmetics manufacturing and brewing. The Trio close coupled pump is a robust IP55 unit which comprises an integral inverter, industrial motor/gearbox and pumphead. It is compact and easy to install, eliminating the need for the installation of a separate inverter which often requires a suitable, often expensive, enclosure. The integral inverter uses a “sensorless vector control” giving excellent motor control right across the speed range, as well as a high start up torque. The Trio offers a 1O:l speed control ratio which,

Difficult fluids no obstacle to drum pump

In many industries there are situations where ‘difficult-to-handle fluids’ need to be removed safely from tanks, drums or other vessels. A new, lightweight, high-performance drum pump manufactured by Finish is designed for Thompson, just such applications and from fluids is available handling specialists Michael Smith Engineers.

The pumps can be adapted further with a number of other modifications. Hosetail, threaded fittings or flange connections can be specified for the discharge spout, various O-ring types can be selected for chemical compatibility, and a larger exhaust silencer can be fitted to the air motor to reduce the noise of the unit to around 75 dBA. Barrel pump boasts rapid stripdown Sealless pumps are often suitable for transferring liquids which do attack seal materials likeviton, Perbunan or EPM, and which neither stick, harden nor crystallize. Problems can therefore arise with the media used in the cosmetic, pharmaceutical and food industries. For these applications, FLUX has designed a sanitary pump which can be completely sterilized. The new sanitary pump, type F 427 S, has been designed

Thomson PF drum pump.

The PF drum pump can be supplied in either polypropylene, PVDF or stainless steel so a compatible pump can be specified whatever whatever the medium; whether aggressive, hazardous, organic, inorganic, acidic or alkaline. The pumps can transfer up to 150 l/min and will operate against discharge heads to 24 m on liquids with densities up to 1.8 and viscosities up to 500 cPThe pump is available in three different lengths with a choice of seven different drive motors so there should a configuration suitable for most applications.
