Nikkiso to acquire Lewa Nikkiso Co Ltd has announced plans to buy German metering pump specialist Lewa GmbH. Nikkiso will acquire Lewa from shareholders Deutsche Beteiligungs AG (DBAG), Quadriga Capital and Lewa management, through its consolidated subsidiary in Germany, Nikkiso Pumps Europe GmbH. DBAG and Quadriga acquired Lewa in October 2005 in a management buyout. “We respect Lewa as a renowned brand backed by outstanding technologies,” said Nikkiso chief executive officer (CEO) Toshihiko Kai. “We want to preserve and promote the brand, its employees, sales network and the fundamental solutionoriented alignment of the

Colfax closes North Carolina facility Colfax Corp is to close its pump manufacturing plant in Sanford, North Carolina, USA by the end of the year, with the loss of 68 jobs. Production of the Zenith gear pumps will move to Colfax’s facilities in Monroe, North Carolina and Columbia, Kentucky. Colfax says that the closure will cost around US$2.3 million.
