Product specifications and suggested formulations are included for chlorinated paraffins and chlorinated/brominated ‘organics. COMPANY NEWS DAVAR PLASTICS
This company, based in Kent (UK) was acquired by Gabriel Chemie of Austria some four years ago. It now specialises in colour masterbatch production, and will also be introducing all of Gabriel Chemie products into the UK sector, which include fire retardants, blowing agents and UV absorbers. The Davan Plastics range of masterbatches are marketed under the name Unimax.
MERGER
Croxton & Garry Ltd., in the UK,a manufacturer and distributor of fillers and polymer additives,has merged with the Industrial Minerals Division of Blue Circle Industries plc, a manufacturer of calcium carbonate, creating a company with annual turnover approaching 2.50 million ($92.5 million). The new business will continue to operate as Croxton & Carry, but it will be owned jointly by Blue Circle and Pluess-Staufer AG, Croxton & Garry's Swiss parent. Production and sale of Blue Circle's "Snowcal" calcium carbonates and other industrial minerals will be carried out by Croxton & Garry.

The Performance Products Division of Hydro Polymers, the UK subsidiary of Norway's Norsk Hydro, has acquired the mineral filled polypropylene compound and non-coloured additive masterbatch business of Richburn Plastics. Cont./......
