Jacobs secures EPC contract from ExxonMobil
J
acobs Engineering Group Inc is to provide engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services for ExxonMobil’s diesel supply projects in Baytown, Texas, and Baton Rouge, Louisiana. These projects, with scheduled completion in 2010, allow the refineries to meet rising diesel demand worldwide. Through the construction of new units and modification of existing facilities, the refineries can increase the production of ultra low sulfur diesel.
BHP Billiton to redevelop North West Shelf

HP Billiton has approved the North West Shelf Cossack, Wanaea, Lambert, Hermes (CWLH) redevelopment project with a capital investment of US$245 million.

The CWLH redevelopment project comprises the replacement of the existing Cossack Pioneer Floating Production Storage and Offtake (FPSO) vessel, selected refurbishment of existing subsea infrastructure and the existing riser turret mooring. It will also capture additional oil production from the Cossack, Wanaea, Lambert and Hermes fields offshore north west Western Australia by extending existing field life and through tie-back of exploration opportunities. The CWLH redevelopment project should be completed and fully operational by early 2011. The Cossack Pioneer FPSO will be replaced by the SBM-owned Okha which is currently configured as a Floating, Storage and Offtake vessel and will require conversion to add topside production facilities. The other participants in the project are Woodside Energy Ltd (operator), BP Developments Australia Pty Ltd, Chevron Australia Pty Ltd and Japan Australia LNG (MIMI) Pty Ltd.
FEED contract awarded for Kashagan Full-Field project development

-WAC Ltd, a joint venture between Aker Solutions, CB&I and WorleyParsons, has received a US$135 million front-end engineering and design (FEED) services contract for Phase II of the full-field development of the Kashagan oil field in Kazakhstan. The scope of work for Phase II includes the front end engineering and design of both onshore and offshore facilities and pipelines. The FEED contract also includes options for early works, detail engineering, procurement services, technical assistance, and design/system integrity. Additionally, the contract provides for optional FEEDs for other Kazakhstan oil fields (Aktote, Kairan, and Kalamkas). Work on the project began last November and is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2010. Additional options could extend the work up to an 8-year period. Aker Solutions and WorleyParsons are executing Phase 1 of the Kashagan Project (the Experimental programme) performing detailed design, fabrication and hook-up.

emex Exploration and Production has awarded ICA Fluor a US$51 million contract for the construction of two lightweight offshore platforms for the Cantarell production field in the Gulf of Mexico. ICA Fluor and its subsidiary Industria del Hierro will be responsible for the procurement, construction, testing and load out of the wellhead recovery structures. The new offshore platforms will be connected to the existing Akal-R and Akal-L production platforms.
VetcoGray retrofit boosts Angolan oil field production

etcoGray, a GE Oil & Gas business, has signed a US$27 million contract with Cabinda Gulf Oil Co, a subsidiary of Chevron, to retrofit the existing subsea trees in the Lobito Tomboco oil field off the coast of Angola. The retrofit will increase production by 7000–10 000 barrels per day. Under the contract with Cabinda, VetcoGray will be responsible for the total subsea system. VetcoGray’s service team in Angola will support the retrofit operations.

oster Wheeler Energy Ltd has secured a two-year extension on its existing alliance contract with Shell UK Oil Products Ltd for the provision of basic design, engineering, procurement and construction management services at Shell’s Stanlow Manufacturing Complex in the UK. This is the second extension to the current contract and will take the Foster Wheeler alliance relationship with Shell at Stanlow through to 2011. Foster Wheeler’s original alliance contract with Shell was signed in 1997.
