SPX Flow appoints new Food & Beverage channel partner in Egypt

PX Flow has named Petroconsult as a new channel partner for its Food & Beverage and hygienic applications business in Egypt. Cairo-headquartered Petroconsult already supports the SPX Flow ClydeUnion Pumps, Bran+Luebbe and Johnson Pump brands across the oil, gas and petrochemical sector in the region. Now, a new Petroconsult subsidiary will provide additional support for Anhydro, APV, Gerstenberg Schröder, Seital Separation and Waukesha Cherry-Burrell brands. “This new partnership will offer tremendous benefits to our customers in the dairy, food & beverage and other hygienic processing industries in the region with enhanced local support and rapid spares deliveries,” said Tom Cork, channel manager at SPX Flow. “Petroconsult has a strong presence in Egypt, with multiple warehouse facilities. It will hold local stock of many common parts and components as well as acting as a distributor for APV, Seital Separation and WCB product lines.” Petroconsult’s warehouse facilities are located in Alexandria’s free trade zone, enabling the company to serve a wider region, including Jordan and Libya, without additional import/export duties. Hazem Elleithy, CEO of Petroconsult, said: “This is an exciting diversification for our business. We already have a long and successful relationship with SPX Flow for

its process pumps and have the logistical network in place to serve the sanitary business sectors with the additional product ranges. Alongside rapid delivery of products and components, we will be developing a service network into 2020 to support SPX Flow customers across Egypt.” The new Petroconsult partnership with SPX Flow will operate alongside existing sales agents in the Middle East, including CT Group of Egypt. H2O Innovation completes Genesys acquisition

H

2O Innovation Inc has acquired Genesys Holdings Ltd, Genesys Manufacturing Ltd, Genesys International Ltd and Genesys North America LLC, the UK privately-owned group of companies that develops, manufactures and distributes speciality reverse osmosis (RO) membrane chemicals, antiscalants, cleaners, flocculants and biocides (see Filtration Industry Analyst, October 2019). Genesys has a portfolio of over 35 diversified products that are manufactured at its facility in Cheshire, UK. The company also offers laboratory services such as feed water and pre-treatment tests, membrane autopsies and cleaning program design. “Whilst there was a significant level of interest in our business, we chose H2O Innovation as it became apparent, they were the perfect partner and ultimately represented the right home for our business and more importantly our employees. H2O Innovation will

maintain the family feel that Genesys has developed by looking after its staff and distributors. As there are significant areas of synergy for both companies, we fully endorse the acquisition knowing it will be highly beneficial to all those involved,” said Ursula Annunziata, director and co-founder of Genesys. ealing specialist John Crane has opened a new service centre in Antwerp, Belgium and moved to a larger facility in Baku, Azerbaijan. Located close to the Port of Antwerp, the new Belgian service centre enhances John Crane’s local service and support network for OEM and end user customers serving oil and gas, power generation, chemical, pharmaceutical production, and general industry markets. “With its strategic proximity to the Port of Antwerp, this new facility enables us to provide effective and efficient operations for our customers through the reduction of downtime costs and service repairs for mechanical seals, sealing systems, couplings and filtration systems,” said Ruben Alvarez, John Crane executive vice president, Sales and Aftermarket. “This service centre also allows us to support a long-term growth vision by investing in local infrastructure and continuing to develop our talent.” “The performance and functionality of our customers’ operations depend on us for a highly responsive service to increase uptime, reduce maintenance

The new Baku service centre is twice the size of the previous facility and enhances John Crane’s local service and support network for OEM and end user customers in the oil and gas, power generation, chemical, mining, and food and beverage markets. It will also allow John Crane to support customers in Georgia and Uzbekistan. “John Crane has been supporting energy sector companies in Baku for more than a decade,” said Aziz Sallie, managing director, John Crane Middle East and Africa. “Our continuous investment in local capabilities, along with the request from customers for increased local support with a higher level of technology and service differentiation, clearly marked our strategy to commit to this investment. Xylem supports Manchester City’s Cityzens Giving safe water project

Cityzens Giving annual charitable campaign which helps young leaders around the world change lives through football. Now in its’ sixth year, Cityzens Giving sees City Football Group and its partners donate £400 000 to six community football projects. Over a six-week campaign, Manchester City fans will hear from the young leaders in each of the six projects and will vote for their preferred cause at mancity.com/ cityzensgiving. The more votes a project gets, the greater the funding it will receive. Xylem is supporting a new safe water project in Cape Coast, Ghana, as one of the six initiatives in the campaign. The project, “Kicking for Change,” will combine football, safe water education and equipment to provide clean water access to schools and communities to help prevent waterborne illnesses and keep children in school. The project will use football to teach children about life-saving water and sanitation education, keeping them healthy and in school, and will be combined with a new clean water source in the community.
