Jotun could be Orkla’s next takeover target Analysts believe that Orkla’s next turnover could be of the Norwegian paints company Jotun, from the Gleditsch family, but the price could be very high. Orkla already owns 42.5% of the capital and 38.2% of the votes in Jotun. In Sep 2011 Orkla failed in a hostile takeover bid for Jotun. However, Orkla now has a new leadership in place which has already succeeded in acquiring family-owned businesses. It is thought Orkla will have to offer a higher price than last year. Jotun has been allocated a sum-of-theparts value of NKR 9.4 bn. It has over 80 companies and nearly 40 production facilities located on all continents.
