iesel particulate filter manufacturer Rypos Inc has secured US$8 million in funding from Craton Equity Partners, a California clean technology fund. Founded in 1996 by a group of scientists and entrepreneurs, Rypos specializes in diesel particulate filter technology. “Rypos is committed to leading clean air initiatives in California and across the nation. The company’s diesel particulate filters are the most advanced after market solution to controlling harmful emissions from diesel engines,” said Bob MacDonald, managing partner of Craton Equity Partners. “These emissions are a major contributor to particulate matter (PM) that has been identi-

The work that Rypos is doing is critical to reducing this risk to public health.” “The demand for high quality diesel particulate filters due to California and EPA regulations has fueled Rypos’ rapid growth,” said Peter Bransfield, CEO of Rypos. “Craton’s immersion in the regulations and technology that will impact environmental quality is extensive and will provide Rypos with new channels to meet the needs of the marketplace.” For further information, visit www.cratonep.com and www.rypos.com

Millipore goes solar illipore Corp has completed a US$2 million solar panel installation project at its Bedford, Massachusetts, facility. Over the past six months, Millipore worked with several vendors to design and install the solar panel system, which includes 1383 Sharp panels and 4 Solectria inverters. We are excited about completing the solar panel project, which marks an important continuation of our efforts to embrace renewable energy throughout the company.” Millipore launched a sustainability initiative in 2008 focused on reducing the company’s impact on climate change, reducing waste, and changing employee behaviours.
