New Beginnings…A New Partnership to Advance Psychiatric–Mental Health Nursing
As of 2015 the International Society of Psychiatric–Mental Health Nurses (ISPN) has partnered with Archives of Psychiatric Nursing to make it the official journal of the Society. We want to let you know what the partnership between ISPN and Archives will mean to you as members. Most importantly, it means you will have a direct link to the journal through formal representation on the Archives Editorial Board including two Associate Editors and four official Editorial Board members. In addition, we will work with you to plan more partnered activities between ISPN and Archives such as publication and reviewer workshops at the annual conference. Since Archives will now include official ISPN representatives as both Associate Editors and Editorial Board members a second journal task force was created to oversee this process. Dr. Catherine Kane will lead the task force to identify members for these positions. Guided by the journal survey results, Dr. Kane and task force members will begin to envision the future of our discipline and its scholarship. Many of you recently responded to the survey regarding the journal that was sent to you by ISPN. We appreciate all your input and will be adding some journal features in response to your suggestions. Each issue of Archives will include some significant ISPN agenda items, and we invite your commentary on all aspects so we continue to enhance the partnership. We will be featuring an ISPN President's Message in each issue of the journal as well as ISPN key features. We invite your engagement, input, and involvement at all levels. We are particularly interested in engaging you as authors and reviewers

for the journal. To submit a paper or to sign up as a reviewer, you will have to create an account on the journal Website http://www. psychiatricnursing.org/. As a potential reviewer you will be asked to indicate areas of expertise so we can match your expertise to the content areas of the manuscripts that you might be asked to review. The aim of Archives of Psychiatric Nursing is to disseminate original, peer-reviewed research that is of interest to psychiatric–mental health nurses. The field is considered in its broadest perspective, including theory, practice, and research applications related to all ages, special populations, settings, and interdisciplinary collaborations in both the public and private sectors. Through critical study, expositions, and review of practice, Archives is a medium for clinical scholarship to provide theoretical linkages among diverse areas of practice. This year, 2015, is a new beginning for ISPN and Archives. As we celebrate our new beginnings and usher in a new year, we resolve to make this partnership responsive to the needs of the Society and welcome your continued input and advice.
