Little Giant models unveiled at ASPE

The BPMA celebrates its 75th anniversary in style

Manufacturer of complete pumping systems, the Franklin Electric Co., Inc., introduced a wide range of products at ASPE 2016, including the Little Giant 6EC series and the 10EC series.

The pinnacle of the British Pump Manufacturers’ Association’s 75th anniversary celebrations was its recent anniversary dinner and dance.

Franklin Electric’s Little Giant 6EC series and 10EC series pumps provide lower current draw, higher energy efficiency, and improved performance in sump, dewatering, water transfer and light effluent applications. These

units feature cast iron covers and a polypropylene base that includes the stainless plate. Additional models are now available with a durable cast iron base providing increased intake area, reducing intake velocities and clogging potential. The 1/3 hp 6EC series consumes only 5.0 amps while producing 53 gpm at 5 ft of head and reaching a maximum shut off of 28 ft. The 1/2 hp 10EC series touts a full-load rating of only 6.5 amps and produces 67 gpm at 5 ft of head with a maximum shut off of 36 ft. www.franklinwater.com

Held at the Heythrop Park Resort in Oxfordshire, the event was attended by some of the leading companies associated with this important industry sector. The event was sponsored by Grundfos, Wilo and WEG, and was the highlight of the BPMA's year-long celebratory activities. The evening began with a champagne reception in the Grand Hall of the old Manor House, followed by the anniversary dinner in the Enstone Suite, live music and dancing late into the night.

BPMA President, Peter Reynolds, said: “The 75th Anniversary event was a fantastic success and it was great to see so many people associated with the industry – both past and present – in attendance. It was a particular honour for me, as the current President, to be involved and we at Grundfos were pleased to play our role to help sponsor and support such an auspicious occasion." www.bpma.org

Improved gearbox output seal reduces leakage and improve seal reliability Designer and manufacturer of highly-engineered centrifugal pumps for use in oil and gas production, Sundyne, has launched its new improved gearbox output seal, the SundSEAL, for customers throughout Europe, Africa and the Middle East. Following R&D and rigorous testing at the company's Arvada facility, the

SundSEAL improves seal reliability and pump and compressor seal maintenance interval. Specifically designed for use with Sundyne integrally geared pumps and compressors, the seal minimizes leakage and increases Mean-time Between Repair. Its straightforward retrofit method, means that SundSEAL is also an easy upgrade for existing units.

With its reverse pressure capability, SundSEAL creates a barrier between the process seals and the gearbox interior that can withstand pressures up to 275 PSI, thereby providing equipment protection by keeping process fluid out of your gearbox. www.sundyne.com

Extended hydraulic range for SL & SE wastewater models Grundfos is increasing its SL and SE range of wastewater pumps to include medium, high and super high hydraulic offerings from 12 to 42 horsepower (HP). Designed to handle raw, unscreened sewage, effluent and large volumes of surface and process water, the extended selection ensures the highest pump efficiencies and the largest free

passage of solids at the lowest vibrations. The extended range has a simple but hydraulically efficient S-tube impeller, which enables free passage of solids up to five inches and works well for large flows of raw sewage. Self-adaptive controls allow the pump to adjust to changing operating conditions, while high-efficiency motors meet

or exceed global standards. These design elements give the SL and SE range trouble-free operation, high non-clogging capabilities and the lowest life cycle cost. The SL range is designed for submerged use, while the SE range accommodates both submerged and dry installations. Applications include raw water intake, commercial, municipal and

industrial wastewater, process water and storm water runoff. www.grundfos.com The SE and SL range of wastewater pumps.
