21st Conference of the European Teratology Society Lyon, France September 6-9, 1993 Including Education Course in Embryology

The Local Organising Committee and the President of the Society are pleased to announce the 21st Annual Conference of the European Teratology Society, which will be held in Lyon, France, from September 6 to 9, 1993. There will be three major symposia:

Developmental Genetics, speakers including: C. Junien; E. Boncinell; R, Bailing; J. Godet; R. Krumlauf; and P. Scramlber.

Assisted Procreation, speakers including: P. Lancaster; F. Thepot; P. Braude; J-F. Guerin; and A. Handyside.

Toxicokinetics, speakers including: J. Gabrielsson; D. Clarke; H. Nau; H. K6eter: A. Scialli. Discussion groups will be chosen from: Legal and scientific aspects of causation; Statistics and experimental hypothesis testing; Validation and interpretation of in vitro tests; Occupational health policies for pregnant women; Tools for the prevention of human malformation; Interpretation of experimental behavioral tests; Methods of evaluation of teratogenic risk; European Network Teratology Information Services; The importance of minor morphological abnormalities in teratology studies; What can molecular biology contribute to teratology? Free communications on all aspects of teratology, reproductive and developmental toxicology and congenital malformation are encouraged. The Conference will be held at the Facult6 Alexis Carel with accommodation and receptions in the centre of Lyon, a beautiful, historic and cultured city with a gastronomic reputation second to none. The Banquet will be in the lovely Chateau de Pizay. The Society has made a special effort to keep the costs of the Conference low (Registration will be 1500 FF, and accommodation from 200 FF/night) to encourage a wide range of participants, particularly young scientists. Prior to the main Conference there will be a one-day Education Course on Embryology, with an international faculty. There will be separate Registration and the number of participants will be limited.
