This meeting will focus on the use of neurotoxins as tools to study neurodegenerative disorders. There also will be a strong emphasis on whether or not exogenous or endogenous neurotoxins might be a part of the natural etiology of neurodegenerative disorders. An in depth analysis of the potential mechanism of action of various neurotoxins will be a feature of the meeting. Some, but not all of the neurotoxins include MPTP, methamphetamine, kainic acid and several other excitotoxins, and the cholinergic neurotoxin AF-65A.
