Adolescent Athlete With Sudden Groin Pain

[Ann Emerg Med. 2016;68:639.] A 16-year-old male adolescent presented with severe groin pain and inability to bear weight. On admission, he reported that in the course of a 100-m sprint race, he felt abrupt bilateral groin pain and was unable to stand. On examination, no inguinal bruising or swelling was noted. Palpation of iliac crests and movement of the hips provoked severe pain. Radiography was performed (Figure).
