Bay Area local chapter will likely rival that memory. Thank you, ASORN Bay Area chapter for your warm hospitality and gracious assistance! It was a generous and appreciated gesture. The theme of “Soaring to New Heights” was expounded on by keynote speaker Linda Groah, RN, MS, CNOR, CNAA, as she unfolded the characteristics and the competencies we will need to make the paradigm shift and fit the health care arena of the next millennium. Donna Hill-Howes, RN, MS, inspired and impelled us to meet the challenges of career transition and “Reap the Rewards of Change” in her keynote address, which displayed firsthand the creativity and high technology moving nursing into the twenty-first century. Exhibitors were greeted by throngs of knowledge-hungry nurses in the lobby area and included Alcon, Becton-Dickinson/Beaver Surgical Products, Ethicon, Inc., Merck, Micro-Scientific Industries, Inc., Oakworks, Inc., Storz Ophthalmics, Visitec, Christian Eye Ministry, and Mosby-Year Book.
