Frequently Asked Questions about

Every Woman: The Essential Guide to Healthy Living“ ‘I

1. Officials at our institution want to see the publication before applying to become a distribution site, is this possible?

No, unfortunately, since this is the premier launch of the publication, there is no ”finished product” before distribution for review. All site coordinators will receive a letter in July that lists the expert panel of nurses who compiled the content and the listing of the health topics covered in this book. That is all the information that we can provide for review at this point, although you certainly can be assured that as an AWHONN product the content will be of the highest integrity, with the latest in evidence-based information written by nurses at a level understandable by most consumers. 2.Your form says we must be willing to participate in data collection after distribution-what kind of data do you want us to keep? Are you expecting data on our patient population?

That’s a great question and one that’s frequently asked. We plan to do simple followup with the site coordinators, asking for their overall impressions of Every Woman, for suggestions for improvements to future annual volumes, suggestions for future health topics to be covered and any interesting stories they would like to share regarding how they used this book with their female patients. No, we won’t be asking for confidential data on your patients.

care providers, genetic testing a n d counseling implications, and holistic health, including mind/body health and spirituality. This publication, which is free to women through their nurse health care providers, will bring the best in evidence-based health maintenance and health promotion information, as well as important lifestyle news, to the women we serve, thus advancing AWHONN’s mission of promoting health for women and their families. AWHONN is currently recruiting 1,000 sites to receive 500 copies

3. We signed up to be a site but we haven‘t heard back from AWHONN regarding whether we‘ve been selected to be a sitehow does this process work? All sites that see more than 500 women automatically qualify to receive and distribute the publication-that is our only criterion. Because we are shipping in lots of 500 books we, need sites that see a t least 500 different women a year so that we can ensure that the books will get into the hands of at least 500,000 women this year. If you‘ve submitted your application already, and have indicated that you see more than 500 women a year, you’re automatically included in the distribution list as a distribution site and will receive books later this summer for distribution. 4. We see thousands of women a year, how can we get more than 500 books?

Many sites have been asking this question and we‘re glad you want to reach as many women as possible! To receive multiple shipments, in lots of 500, you simply need t o fill out a site application form for each 500 books you want to receive-using a different nurses‘ name or address-for each lot of 500. By using a different name or address, this will keep us from accidentally deleting your additional requests in our distribution database as they might appear as duplicates. One word of caution, however! The books will ship all at once, at the end of this July, so please make sure you have adequate storage to receive more than 500 copies a t once!
