Fluence raises A$36.0mn to fund continued expansion

luence Corp Ltd has raised A$36.0 million through a placement of approximately 81.8 million of the company’s ordinary shares to sophisticated and professional institutional investors at an issue price of A$0.44 per share. Net proceeds from the placement will be used to fund Fluence’s continued expansion in China for MABR sales, to bolster geographic expansion, for CES projects guarantees, to optimize the business’s cost structure, as well as for general corporate purposes. Established in 1969 as Astral SA by four founding families, today Fluidra operates internationally across both the residential and commercial pool & wellness markets. Following initial success in Spain, the company began its international expansion during the 1970s in France and Italy. The 1980s and 1990s saw the company consolidate its business in Spain and expand internationally, opening subsidiaries across Europe and the Middle East. Banco Sabadell acquired 20% of the company’s share capital in 2002. In 2007, the company went public when Fluidra listed on the Spanish Stock Exchange.
