Stork Pumps has added the C o m b i P r o to its C o m b i s y s t e m ra nge of p u m p s . The C o m b i P r o is d e s i g n e d for t h e p r o c e s s i n g i n d u s t r y a n d is suited for t h e refining business, oil terminals, lube oil plants, b i t u m e n plants, cokeries a n d p e t r o c h e m i c a l industries. As a result of Stork r e s e a r c h w i t h i n t h e s e sectors of industry, it was d e t e r m i n e d t h a t t h e r e is dem a n d for p u m p s t h a t c o u l d w o r k specifically up to 25 bar. The C o m b i s y s t e m c o m p r i s e s a range of different p u m p types b a s e d on a single s t a g e e n d suction overhung centrifugal principle. The C o m b i s y s t e m is m o d u l a r a n d consists of horizontal an d vertical p u m p s -i nc l ud i n g self p r i m i n g versions. Components can be i n t e r -
c h a n g e d as only a small n u m b e r of t h e m are used in t h e p u m p assembly. The C o m b i P r o is d e s i g n e d Alfa Laval's pump protection unit defends pumps to API 610 8th e d i t i o n w h i ch against many common causes of damage. places e m p h a s i s on c e n t r e l i n e s u p p o r t e d p u m p s as o p p o s e d to f o o t m o u n t e d units. Inclu d e d in this revision is a section referring to shaft sealing a n d c a r t r id g e seals, API 682, with w h i c h t h e n ew C o m b i P r o r a n g e is c o m p l i a n t . A f eat u r e o f t h e n e w d e s i g n is t h e p u m p cover w h ich can a c c e p t b o t h API c a r t r i d g e seals, as w e l l as s t r a i g h t f o r w a r d DIN 24960 m e c h a n i c a l seals. There is p r o v i s io n for a h e a t i n g c h a m ber for t h e seal a r e a an d t h e f r o n t of t h e p u m p c a s i n g if r e q u i r e d .
