P45~2HIGR ATRIAL NATRIURETIC PEPTIDES(ANP) LEVELS IN THE PERICARDIAL FLUID IN PATIANTS WITH CARDIAC DISEASE Jun Amano, Akio Suzuki, Makoto Sunamori, Toshizumi Shirai, Hitoshi Fujiwara, Masayoshi Shichiri, Fumiaki Marumo. Tokyo Medical and Dental University, Tokyo 113, and Hokushin General Hospital, Nagano 387, JAPAN The present study was aimed to measure the ANP levels in the pericardial fluid in patients with aquired heart disease. We examined 20 patients who underwent cardiac surgery and 19 healthy volunteers. ANP leve1(319.2*49.6pg/ml) was significantly higher than the corresponding plasma level (125*29.5pg/ml), and this plasma level was hiaher than that of the healthv volunteers No difference was observed betwee: pericardial <46.5*4.31pg/ml). and plasma c-GMP levels. Pericardial and plasma ANP levels showed significant positive correlation, however no correlations were observed between pericardial ANP levels and hemodynamic parameters. In conclusion, high ANP levels in the pericardial fluid were demonstrated, and there were no evidences that pericardial release of ANP was specifically coupled to hemodynamics.

Isolated rat hearts were perfused rstrogradely (Langandorf’f) at 37’C ure of 75 mm Hg. ATP and phosphocrsatine (PCr) were monitored prT? P-NMR. by APtret- 30 min. control psrpusion the hsarts were perfused Ca2’-free buffer and the reperfussd 15 min. with normal buffer. Trifluoperzene 10% wae added in the buffer during calcium free and calcium repeusion group. A second group was exposed to TFP only during calcium tree repert’usion. The ATP and PCr peeks were close to normal levels. The prutscted by trifluoperazine Pran the ePl%cts aP ‘Calcium Paradox’. 5.205
