The authors wish to correct Fig. 2 reported in our article on the protective effects of platonin against acute lung injury in haemorrhagic shock rats (January, 2011).1 During further data review, we found that the histological images in Fig. 2 did not reflect the actual results. The correct Fig. 2 is shown below. In the process of uploading the figure during paper submission, we mistakenly uploaded histological images from our earlier study (Journal of Surgical Research 167: e273–e281, 2011) instead of images from this study. We wish to express our sincere apology for this error.

Fig. 2. Microscopic findings of lung tissues stained with hematoxylin–eosin (200×). (A) Representative microscopic findings of normal to minimal lung injury, as observed in rats of the sham instrumentation (Sham) and Sham plus platonin (100 g/kg) groups. (B) Representative microscopic findings of moderate lung injury, as observed in rats of the haemorrhagic shock/resuscitation (HS) and HS plus platonin (10 g/kg) groups. (C) Representative microscopic findings of mild lung injury, as observed in rats of the HS plus platonin (50 g/kg) and HS plus platonin (100 g/kg) groups.
