Corrigendum

Corrigendum to ‘‘The early days of PEG, PEGylation (1970s–1990s)” [Acta Biomater. 40 (2016) 1–5] Allan S. Hoffman Bioengineering Dept., University of Washington, Seattle, WA 98195, United States

The author regrets incorporating the following errors in the original article: – Dr. Abraham Abuchowski’s last name has been incorrectly spelled several times in the article as well as in some of the references. – It was also incorrectly stated that Dr. Frank Davis was the original CEO and President of Enzon. Rather it was Dr. Abuchowski who was the original CEO and President of the company. Initially, Dr. Frank Davis was a Rutgers’ Professor and a Scientific Advisor to Enzon, and after his retirement he became Enzon’s Vice President.

– The caption to Fig. 1 identifies Dr. Abuchowski as Prof. Davis’ PhD student, which he was, but at the time of the photo, he was Enzon’s CEO and President. – It was incorrectly stated that the first protein Drs. Davis and Abuchowski worked on was bovine liver catalase, where it was actually bovine serum albumin. Dr. Abuchowski later chose catalase by himself as the model protein. The author would like to apologize for any inconvenience caused.
