ANNOUNCEMENTS Dissertation Summaries and Abstracts in Body Image: An International Journal of Research Body Image publishes summaries and abstracts of recently completed doctoral dissertations on topics consistent with the journal’s Aims and Scope. The 120-word summaries will appear in the journal itself. The 1200-word abstracts will be published on a website linked from the journal’s site. The dissertations must have been completed within the past two years and received final approval from the institution granting the degree. The reported research must not be accepted for publication elsewhere. Publication of the summary and abstract in Body Image does not preclude subsequent publication of a manuscript derived from the research. Summaries and abstracts must be submitted simultaneously and electronically in accordance with specific guidelines on the journal’s website at www.elsevier.com/locate/bodyimage. These documents will be reviewed for style and substance by Dr. Thomas F. Cash, Editor-in-Chief.

The Seymour Fisher Outstanding Body Image Dissertation Annual Award Body Image: An International Journal of Research will annually recognize an outstanding doctoral dissertation on the topic of body image. The award is deservedly named for the late Dr. Seymour Fisher, whose scholarly contributions to the field were both seminal and prolific. Each year’s recipient will be announced in the next year’s first quarterly issue of the journal. The recipient will be awarded a monetary prize of $1000, provided through the generous endowment of Seymour Fisher’s loving family in support of continued body image scholarship in his memory. Eligibility criteria and submission procedures for the Seymour Fisher Outstanding Body Image Dissertation Annual Award are detailed on the journal’s website at www.elsevier.com/locate/bodyimage. The dissertations must have been completed within the past two years and received final approval from the institution granting the degree. The annual deadline for mailing documents for this award to Dr. Thomas F. Cash, Editor-in-Chief, is August 15.
