The correct expressions were used for the computations in this article, so these typographical errors have no bearing on the results or conclusions presented. The authors have also found that some readers have questions about the time– course data in Figs. 2 and 3, on pages 22 and 23, respectively. In these figures, time zero refers to the NO donor addition. Zero time is explicitly taken into account so that the decay of NO donor can tracked. However, to make comparisons between different blood samples straightforward, the metHb production at the first sample point is normalized to zero. This erratum is doi:10.1006/niox.2001.0388.
