L~iversidad de Buenos Aires, Argentina. In order to study an ethiological approach we i n t ~ n ~ to develop an experim~%tal model for eclam~sia. Twenty two female inbred Spcntaneously Hypertensive Rats (SHR) were grafted with skin fAom Holtzman strain males. The placing of a total of four sequential grafts took place at an interval of ten days. Each SHR was mated with its c o r r e s p o ~ skin donor ten days after the last graft. Five non grafted SHR mated with Holtmm%n males were used as controls. In most of the rats that becaue pregnant we found changes which consisted in: i ~ n~ber of offspring, stillborn fetuses, abortions and growth delay. Renal function was evaluated before and during pregnancy; the control grotlo showed a ~hysiological increase in glcmerular filtrati~ rate (GFR) of 53.0% (basal= 0.68 ± 0.22 ml/mn, peak= 1.05 +- 0.24 ml/mn) while the experimental g r o ~ had only 7.5% i n ~ t in GFR (basal= 0.93 +_ 0.12 ml/mn, peak= 1.00 +_ 0.12 ml/mn). Renal histology showed lesions corresponding to disseminated intravascular coagulation. The results indicate that the association of skin grafts and hyperterasion in these rats, may affect the normal development of pregnancy and suggest that immunological factors could be involved in this condition.

Inflammatory genitalia diseases in 65-77% have severe course, influence the reproductive function and also fetus in the following pregnancy. Immunomodulators have been used for correction of the immune status of reproductive age women with the inner genitalia inflammation. The influence of preparations on the activity of the inflammatory process, clinical course, the blood serum immunoglobulin level, cervical mucus, metabolic activity of phagocyting neutrophils in NBT - test has been studied.
