FIRST A S M E DESIGN TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER CONFERENCE Preliminary Announcement With the support of the National Science Foundation, the Committee on Design Technology Transfer of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers will hold a conference at New York, New York, U.S.A. on 6--9 October 1974. The purpose of this Conference is to accelerate the transfer of available and newly developed machine design technology to the practice level. Its ultimate objective is to develop monographs in machine design as tools to improve the productivity of designers. Papers will be presented in the following areas: Survey of new design technology at the research level; survey of design technology at the practice level; techniques of technology transfer; and computers in design technology. For further information on this Conference, contact: Prof. A. H. Soni, Conference Chairman, School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, Oklahoma State University, Stillwater, Oklahoma 74074, U.S.A.

THIRD APPLIED M E C H A N I S M CONFERENCE This Conference was held on 5-7 November 1973 at Oklahoma State University, U.S.A., and was partially supported by the National Science Foundation. The Conference was attended by 70 participants of whom 25 were from industry. The Conference Proceedings consist of 45 technical papers on synthesis, analysis, instrumentation, and case studies on planar and three-dimensional mechanisms. For the availability of the Conference Proceedings, contact: Prof. A. H. Soni School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, Oklahoma State University, Stillwater, Oklahoma 74074, U.S.A.
