Legislation A m endm ents to state M edicaid or sim ilar law s occurred in Colorado and Florida. State dental laws were am ended in Montana, N ew Hampshire, and N ew York. Louisiana and Virginia am ended their law s relating to m alpractice to define the standard of care fo r health practitioners. New Jersey has expanded its peer review im m unity and has extended the requirem ents fo r reimbursing dentists under individual policies o f medical plans. The N ew York public health law now prohibits use o f posttreatm ent dental radiographs m erely to verify services fo r third parties. A controversial m easure adopted in New York requires that those who provide standardized admission tests for postsecondary or professional schools m ust disclose the substance o f the tests to those taking the test. A Pennsylvania proposal to require dentists to list charges o f dental laboratories on billings of patients w a s defeated.
