The combined screw/centrifugal pumping action, together with the use of large, open channel impellers without exposed blades or edges, facilitates high efficiency, gentle, low turbulence, clog free handling of sewage sludges. Mineral, chemical and petrochemical slurries, solids laden industrial wastes and effluents can also be pumped as well as delicate media such as flocculants and crystalline slurries.

The clamp-type construction method permits manufacture in a variety of hard metals including Ni-hard and high chrome iron for long service life on a b rasive pumping applications. In addition, an externally adjustable suction liner can be fitted, enabling internal clearances to be adjusted to compensate for wear. The full XCS range is made up of five models for capacities up to 370 l/s and heads up to 60 metres. In addition to direct and V-belt drive, XCS pumps can be supplied in vertical dry pit, vertical cantilever and fully submersible versions.
