L E T T E R TO THE EDITOR: 9 electrode requires looping across the tricuspid valve similar to that described by Guiffrida et al. The tracing ws obtained from a patient in whom the femoral approach was not possible. For recording, a multichannel recorder Mingograf Cardirex 6T (Siemens) was used. The Sommer electrodes offer the same advantages for His bundle recording as the BerkovitsCastellanos ones; simultaneous atrial pacing, however, is not possible. The loop of the electrode tip is not difficult to obtain; nevertheless, the technique is more time-consuming than the classical femoral approach. I see a further disadvantage in bursts of ectopic beats, which can be elicited during trials of loop formation. To the Editor: I rehd with great interest the article by Guiffrida et al. 1 on His bundle electrogram recording via the arm veins using a Berkovits-Castellanos hexapolar electrode catheter. In our experience, stable His bundle electrograms via the arm approach are obtainable also by using 6F Sommer bipolar pacemaker elec9trodes 001535 USCI. These electrode catheters have a pair of electrodes (with 10 mm interelectrode distance) 15 cm proximal to the tip. The technique of His bundle recording by this type of
