Processing and Production Ultrasonic treatment apparatus Carmichael, J. T. US Patent 3,405.916 (15 October 1968) In an ultrasonic cleaning tank made of a low thermal heat conducting material (eg plastics), a material having a higher heat con ductivity is interposed between the transducer frontal surface and the tank surface, so that the dissipated heat can be removed. (1243) Device for controlling the pressure of an ultrasonic tool on an article being machined Eksperimentalny Nauchno-Issle-Dovatelsky Institut Metallorezhut-Schikh Stankov British Patent 1,140,992 (1969) (Applied for 1967) This paper described a device for controlling the pressure with which an ultrasonic machining tool bears down upon a workpiece. The pressure is varied by the position of a counterweight in a counterweight guide. Rotation of the guide due to the motion of the counterweight varies the pressure imparted via a lever system. A device is included for automatically switching the pressure scale, the pressure being indicated by the position of the counterweight adjusts a potentiometer giving a pressure reading on a meter. Electrical circuitry is given. (1244)
