ANNOUNCEMENTS CURT P. RICHTER PRIZE IN P S Y C H O N E U R O E N D O C R I N O L O G Y Through the generosity of the Irish Foundation for H u m a n Development, an Annual Prize has been established for meritorious research in the area of Psychoneuroendocrinology. The sum of $1000 will be awarded annually for the best essay or manuscript (original research or a review including original research) submitted by a scientist or physician under 40 years of age by 1 January, 1982. The winning paper will automatically be considered for publication in the journal, Psychoneuroendocrinology and should be prepared according to the journal's instuctions to authors. The aim of the prize is to encourage younger scientists to contribute to this interdisciplinary field. Manuscripts should be submitted in quadruplicate to: Dr. Fleur L. S1"RAND, Secretary International Society of Psychoneuroendocrinology Biology Department, New York University 100 Washington Square New York, NY 10003, U.S.A. Deadline: 2 January, 1982. All submissions will be screened by a broad committee of established psychoneuroendocrinologists. The prize will be awarded at the 1982 meeting of the Society in Tubingen, Germany. The winner will be notified by 1 May, 1982. NOTE: THE AGE LIMIT FOR SUBMITTERS IS NOW UNDER 40 YEARS.

I N T E R N A T I O N A L C O N F E R E N C E ON INTEGRATIVE NEUROHUMORAL MECHANISMS Budapest, Hungary, 2 4 - 27 March, 1982 Both physiological and clinical aspects of the following topics will be discussed: --basal and medial hypothalamic control of anterior pituitary functions --extrahypothalamic control of basal and medial hypothalamic nuclei --limbic structures as targets for hormones --distribution and function of peptidergic neuronal system --interactions between putative neurotransmitters and hormones --neuropeptides involved in controlling complex behavioural reactions --neurotransmitters and neuropeptides in mental diseases --peptide signals and CNS control of viscero-motor activities --perinatal endocrine influences and brain maturation.
