Landini creates new series of multistage pumps Family-owned company Landini Pumps made its mark with products for irrigation but has more recently extended its range with pumps for applications in public, civil and industrial water supply. The Landini Pumps company was set up in Gonzaga in 1956 by an entrepreneur from the province of Reggio Emilia, Nino Landini. He applied the experience acquired from his family (entrepreneurs in the farm mechanization area from the beginning of the last century to the 1960s) in the field of rainwater irrigation for agriculture. This company has always set itself the goal of keeping a high quality product unchanged over time, characterized by strength and advanced technology.

with the help of new machinery and the provision of a modern test room for its entire range of pumps. Although Landini Pumps is a small-sized company, it has established its presence in Italy among the leading companies of this sector, and is now recording its largest turnover abroad. It already has customers across the whole of Europe and the Middle East, and it is introducing itself in Latin America with great success, exporting to a total of more than 40 states worldwide.

In recent years, Landini Pumps has improved its product quality

Production is characterized by a wide range of centrifugal pumps with horizontal shafts for tractors, engine-driven cultivators and motors, and the company is expanding its well-tried range of pumps more and more with vertical shaft and submersible pumps. This has extended the application fields of Landini’s pumps from irrigation to public, civil and industrial water supply.

What’s new? A recent design breakthrough has made possible the creation of a new series of multistage pumps that achieve the highest hydraulic yields in their class. The new series comprises the ‘MLH’ horizontal shaft pumps (Figure 1) and ‘MLV’ vertical shaft pumps (Figure 2). The principal uses for these pumps include: conveying water in industrial, municipal and domestic water systems; snowmaking; fireprotection systems; raising pressure and irrigation. They are available in a range of sizes with flow capacity ranging from 8–250 m3/h, head from 20–600 m, and power ratings of 3–340 kW. Accadueo 2004: an international event From 19 to 21 May 2004, the Ferrara Fair Centre will host the seventh Accadueo exhibition of technologies for the treatment and distribution of potable water and wastewater treatment. It is an important event in terms of both the areas covered and the significance in the market of the companies attending the event. For this reason, the 2004 exhibition is relying on the organizational experience of Fairsystem International, part of the BolognaFiere group. Fairsystem is involved in the logistics and planning the new layout for the fair, and is also developing a meeting programme

that will be better able to meet the industry’s requirements for information and professional training. Accadueo will serve as a quality meeting point for the public and private companies in this sector, whose customers are increasingly interested in the latest products and services and their quality. This is demonstrated by the significant increase in visitors and exhibitors (up by more than 11%) at the 6th fair in 2002. Thanks to Fairsystem’s experience, the 2004 Accadueo event will show a greater international focus. In fact, the organizational

staff is making special efforts to include foreign delegations to enable exhibitors to establish contacts with representatives of various foreign governments and with commercial representatives trading especially in Eastern Europe and the Mediterranean area.
