Cloyes Gears acquires D.ynagear T mtng CLOYESGear & Products has announced its takeover of Dynagear's timing component business. Cloyes is an original equipment manufacturer and aftermarket manufacturer of engine timing components and related products based in Paris, Arkansas. Dynagear Timing is based in Downers Grove, Illinois, and is an aftermarket manufacturer in the same product area. It filed for bankruptcy protection last April.

Static control specialist TBA Electro Conductive Products has launched a shockless pulsed DC ion bar that delivers long-range ionisation in areas requiring static control The makers say the tools are ideal for a number of applicatioos, including electronics safe handling in manufacturing and assembly, blow moulding and injection moulding.

Last year Cloyes expanded operations to Europe and chose Germany for its new 43 ooo square foot plant near Zittau, Saxony. When completed next month, the plant's initial production will be variable valve timing (vvt) for the Hungarian factory building the Toyota Yaris. By the end of the year it will be supplying vvt parts for Ford, Audi, and Daimler/Mitsubishi engines.

Hi-tech show time in Birmingham A ONE-DAYTechnology Fair focusing on particulate engineering is to be held in Birmingham, UK, next month to bring together people from powder metallurgy and particulate engineering for an informal update on the current state of play in the field.
