Following the announcement that air filtration specialists Interfilta and Luwa Filter Technology are trading under the name of their holding company McLeod Russel, a new sales structure has been implemented for UK sales. The sales team has been divided into two sections, ‘Indoor Air’ for customers with HVAC filter applications, and ‘Process Air’ for high integrity and more technical filter applications associated with cleanrooms and some OEM products. Both companies previously operated independently as part of the McLeod Russel group. After the integration of Luwa into the Clean Air Division and Vokes into its production site in Burnley last year, McLeod Russel made the decision to remove Interfilter, Luwa and Vokes as company names and market them as product brands trading under the name of McLeod Russel (UK) Ltd. Environmental and process technology specialist Andritz is supplying plants for thickening the sewage sludge produced at two sewage treatment sites in Moscow, Russia. The plants will consist of nine PowerDrain belt thickeners together with peripheral units and will be used to thicken approximately 10 000 m3 of low-consistency sludge at each treatment plant from 1.5% to approximately 8% dry solids. According to the company, this significantly improves the digesting process and subsequent dewatering. The new plant will be completed in spring 2002.
