Antisense

Strategies January 13th - 15th 1992. Philadelphia, PA, USA. Antisense strategy is the use of antisense RNA or antisense oligodeoxynucleotides to inhibit the expression of a gene toward which these antisense molecules are targetted. The strategy has been used in studying cellular proliferation and differentiation. In it has also been used to target combination with ribozyme chemotherapy against viral products, especially the HIV. The technique is promising in the isolation of bone marrow stem cells and the purging of the bone marrow. The strategy has interest as a basic science tool and as a possible source of application to industry. Deadline for submissions of poster abstracts is 16th September 1991.
