4456526 METHOD FOR MINIMIZING FOULING OF HEAT EXCHANGERS Richard Miller, Ting S Go assigned to Atlantic Richfield Company Hydrocarbon process equipment is protected against fouling by incorporating into the hydrocarbon being processed small amounts of a composition comprised of a dialkylhydroxylamine and a tertiary alkylcatechol.
v
A metal hydride reactor comprising a tubular pressure receptacle having an opening at its one end and a metal hydride filling the receptacle therein, at least a part of the outer wall surface of the tubular pressure receptacle forming a heatexchanging surface; a heat-conducting fin of a heat-conducting material provided to transmit heat from the metal hydride in the pressure receptacle to the heat-exchanging surface and limit the location of the metal hydride in the pressure receptacle; and at least one porous member extending axially of the receptacle for forming within the receptacle a hydrogen gas flow passage leading to the opening of the receptacle, the porous member being permeable to hydrogen gas but impermeable to the metal hydride.
4456889 DUAL-GATE MESFET VARIABLE GAIN CONSTANT OUTPUT POWER AMPLIFIER Mahesh Kumar assigned to The United States of America as represented by the Secretary of the Navy A variable-gain, constant output power amplifier which generates an output rf signal of constant power level in response to an input rf signal of varying power level. The amplifier gain is preadjusted by a plurality of feedforward automatic-gain-control circuits to provide the constant output power. The amplifier comprises five dual-gate MESFET signal-amplifying stages. The first and last stages do not have builtin automatic-gain-control. The first stage is provided for preamplification prior to sampling the input signal, and the last stage is provided for setting the level of the output power externally. The signal at the input of each of the middle three stages is sampled through a coupler and detected and processed at video frequencies to dynamically preadjust the gain of the next signalamplifying stage.

TYPE HEAT PUMP DEVICE
Isao Takeshita, Yoshiaki Yamamoto, Hiroyoshi Tanaka, Neyagawa, Japan assigned to Matsushita Electric Industrial Co Ltd An absorption type heat pump device including a generator for generating refrigerant vapor, a condenser, an evaporator, an expansion valve, an absorber, a solution pump, a passage member for leading strong solution from the generator to the absorber, and a heat exchanger. The heat exchanger and/or the passage member is provided with a portion in which a pressure drop is made larger than a drop in equilibrium pressure resulting from a temperature drop so as to perform flow control of the strong solution.
4458492 METHOD FOR THE RECOVERY OF GEOTHERMAL ENERGY
4457136 METAL HYDRIDE REACTOR Tomoyoshi Nishizaki, Minoru Miyamoto, Kazuaki Miyamoto, Ken Yoshida, Kathuhiko Yamaji, Yasushi Nakata, Suita, Japan assigned to Sekisui Kagaku Kogyo Kabushiki Kaisha
William C Ziegenhain assigned to Conoco Inc A method for the recovery of geothermal energy from subterranean formations comprising injecting a thermally stable, non-corrosive, nonaqueous fluid into said formation to absorb heat; recovering the heated fluid from the formation; and, recovering heat energy from the heated fluid.
