ITT improves hydraulic coverage
Watson-Marlow Bredel has launched the 520 Series, a peristaltic pump for the handling of antimicrobial treatment chemicals such as monochloramine and sodium hypochlorite. Suitable for use in the food waste sector, the combination of tube elements and pumphead design allows the 520 Series to be utilized in the accurate metering, dosing and transferring of these chemicals which are often used to reduce microbial populations in sterilized chiller water found in poultry processing facilities and other areas of the food industry.
ITT Goulds Pumps has improved the hydraulic coverage of its core API 610 product line, the model 3700 type OH2 pump used in the oil and gas market.
The pump can process entrained gas, often generated by the hypo, eliminating the occurrence of vapour locking that prevents conventional pumps from functioning properly, the company says. The 520 Series also contain

fluids within the tube at all times and never allows the monochloramine and sodium hypochlorite to come into contact with the pump mechanism, ensuring dependable, accurate fluid handling. This helps provide predictable life costs for the pump as the tube is the only part that will need replacing. The pump is an inherent metering pump with repeatability at 99.5%. It can accommodate flow rates from 0.1 ml to 350 gpm and are durable, withstanding pressures up to 232 psi. There are no internal universal joints, valves, dead corners or glands to impede flow and these pumps are reversible for back flushing lines. The pumps can also run dry indefinitely without damage and provide up to a 30 ft suction lift.
Goulds is developing 21 new hydraulics while improving 11 existing hydraulics, it says. These new hydraulics will allow optimum pump selection of between 80% and 110% of best efficiency point flow (as required by API 610) and will
optimize the suction specific speed and NPSHR of numerous impellers to better meet customer specifications. The first eight sizes of hydraulics being released are 1x2-7H, 3x611L, 1x2-11BL, 3x6-13L, 1x313AL, 6x8-13AL, 1x3-13C and 1.5x3-13AL. Over the course of the next several months, Goulds will be launching the remaining sizes.
