through joint venture In a transaction that promises early access to Far Eastern markets for its environmental and industrial technologies, Commodore Applied Technologies, Inc. has entered into a business agreement with Hong Kongbased Allied Pacific Group Limited. The joint venture will commercialize Commodore's proprietary technologies, the solvated electron technology (SET) process and the supported liquid m e m b r a n e (SLM) separation process, principally in Taiwan and the Pacific Rim. The SLM technological process, owned by Commodore's publicly traded subsidiary, Commodore Separation Technologies, can separate m a n y materials dissolved in either a liquid or gaseous feedstream and is expected to have wide application in most industries such as metal plating, environmental cleanup, pharmaceutical and mining. Commodore also revealed that it's patent pending SLM process holds an exclusive worldwide license from Lockheed Martin, m a n a g e r of the US Department of Energy's Oak Ridge National Laboratory, to use and develop the technology for separating technetium and r h e n i u m from mixed wastes in nuclear wastewater. Seprotech releases third quarter results Seprotech Systems Incorporated the Canadian specialist in crossflow m e m b r a n e technology, has a n n o u n c e d revenues of C$2.9 million for the third quarter ended 31 May 1997. The reported revenue is the same figure as was reported for the same period last year. Seprotech report that the cost of sales relative to revenue, is now starting to reflect the improved profitability on current business activity. Operating expenses were down C$0.6 million to C$1.2 million, compared with C$1.8 million for the same period the previous year. The operating loss for the period was C$0.97 million compared with C$1.2million for the same period the prior year. The Company reported a net loss for the first nine m o n t h s of this fiscal year of C$1.6 million ($0.33 per common share), compared to a loss of C$1.2 million ($0.25 per c o m m o n share) for the same period the prior year.
