H2O Innovation forms Mexican partnership

2O Innovation Inc is expanding its business activities in Mexico through a partnership agreement. A new Mexican entity, H2O Innovación de Mexico SA de CV, will be headed up by Diego Pasadas, a chemical engineer with 19 years of experience in the water treatment industry, most notably in membrane filtration. Through a royalty paid to H2O Innovation, H2O Innovación Mexico will be able to use the Canadian company’s technologies, experience and references. H2O Innovación Mexico will be based in a new manufacturing and assembly plant in Monterrey, supported by regional offices in Cancun and Cabo. “We are delighted to partner up with a trusted ally already established in Mexico. We are now proposing a unique business model that will allow H2O Innovation to expand its business in a high growth market without adding to its current cost structure. Spiral Water relocates to larger facility

Oasys Water establishes Dubai office

F

orward osmosis specialist Oasys Water Inc has set up an office in Dubai to serve business opportunities in the Middle East and Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region.

The new office in Dubai will support oil and gas, power generation and inland, high-recovery desalination water reuse and transformation projects. The US company has reassigned Sada Krishnan, who was previously managing projects in Australia, to Dubai to lead these efforts. A 20-plus year veteran of the water industry, Krishnan has been appointed director of Middle Eastern business development and general manager for the company’s Dubai office. In this role, Krishnan will be tasked with expanding Oasys Water’s presence in the Middle East. “Creating a presence and appointing Sada to lead our efforts in this region is an important milestone for Oasys and demonstrates our commitment to being a key part of the solution set for the Middle East. Chemviron Carbon celebrates opening of UK reactivation plant

hemviron Carbon, the European operating group of Calgon Carbon Corp, has officially opened its new reactivation plant in Tipton, West Midlands, UK. The plant will reactivate spent activated carbon, mainly for the drinking water utility industry. Chemviron Carbon acquired the facility in Tipton in 2011 from Grafham Carbons and has invested £6.7 million to upgrade the site to industry standards. The plant, which focuses on the reactivation of spent carbon used in drinking water and food grade applications, underwent a major upgrade to increase its capacity and efficiency from 5800 to 10 000 tons per year of reactivated carbon.
