Patent The DMSB includes an inlet diffuser assembly, an outlet diffuser assembly, and an H catalytic recombiner. The DMSB absorbs T,O from the process gas and converts it to a solid form so that tritium is contained during shipping. The DMSB is filled with type 4A molecular sieve pellets capable of adsorbing up to 1,000 Ci of tritium. The recombiner contains a sufficient amount of catalyst to cause any H and 0 present in the process gas to recombine to form H,O vapor, which is then adsorbed onto the DMSB.

A desiccant cooling apparatus and process using a solid adsorbent and refrigerant are described in which the solid adsorbent is selected from zeolite Y-85, a low Ce rare-earth-exchanged Y-84, and a rare-earth-exchanged LZ-210, and the adsorbent is bonded directly to the heat exchange tubes within the device by a novel slip coating process resulting in improved thermal efficiency and overall performance.

Antibacterial zeolites useful as fillers in polymers etc. are coated with polymers derived from unsaturated alkoxysilanes and other vinyl comonomers. Thus, heating antibacterial zeolites with 3-methacryloxypropyltrimethoxysilane, methyl methacrylate, and 2-ethylhexylacrylate in isopropyl alcohol in the presence of a polymerization initiator at reflux gave zeolites with good resistance to discoloration.
