OFFICIAL CALL To the M em bers of the Am erican Dental Association: You are hereby notified that the Ninety-fourth Annual Session of the Am erican Dental Association will be held in Cleveland, Ohio, Septem ­ ber 28 through O c to b e r I, 1953. The scientific session will be held in the Cleveland Public Auditorium . The H ouse of Delegates will convene for the annual business session of the Am erican Dental Association at 9:30 a.m. M on day, Septem ber 28; the second meeting will be held at 1:30 p.m. M onday, Septem ber 28; the third meeting at 1:30 p.m. W ednesday, Septem ber 30; and the fourth meeting at 1:30 p.m.,Thursday, O c to b e r I. Ail meetings of the H ouse of Delegates will be held in the G ra n d Ballroom of the Hotel Statler. The Com m ittee on Credentials will register delegates and alternate delegates beginning at 9:00 a.m. Sunday, September. 27, on the mezzanine floor of the Hotel Statler. The annual State Officers Conference will be held in the Euclid Room, Hotel Statler, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, Septem ber 27. General registration will be held at the Cleveland Public Auditorium . Registration booths will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, Septem ber 27; from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on M on d a y, Tuesday and W ednesday, Septem ber 28, 29 and 30; and from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Thursday, O c to b e r I. The General M eeting will be held at 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, Septem ber 29, in the G ran d Ballroom, Hotel Statler. A t least sixty days prior to the first d ay of the annual session, the con­ stituent societies must file with the secretary of the Association a list of the names and addresses of delegates and alternates.

O tto W . Brandhorst, president o f the Am erican Dental Association, is dean o f W ash in gton U n i­ versity School of Dentistry, St. Louis, an ortho­ dontist, teacher, administrator, editor and essayist. H e is a past president o f the St. Louis Dental Society and the Missouri State Dental Association, form er editor o f the Journal o f the M issouri State Dental A sso ciatio n and a form er director of the A m erican A sso ciatio n o f O rthodontists. H e has been secretary of the Am erican C o lle g e of Dentists since 1935 and was secretary of the A m erican A sso ciatio n o f Dental Editors for 15 years. Dr. Brandhorst was born in Nashville, III., on M a rch 29, 1889, and was grad u ate d from W a sh in gto n University School o f Dentistry in 1915, the year in which he joined the school's

faculty. H e has been an active m em ber of the A m erican Dental A sso ciatio n fo r m any years, serving repeatedly as a m em ber of the H ouse o f Delegates, consultant to the C ouncil on D en­ tal Health and a m em ber of the C o uncil on Dental H ealth and a m em ber of the C o uncil on Dental Education, representing the A m erican A sso ciatio n o f Dental Schools. H e was chairman of three committees of the C ouncil on Dental Education: the committees on dental aptitude testing, on the training o f dental hygienists and on inspection forms. In 1935 he served on the Dental A d v iso ry C ouncil to the C om m ittee on E conom ic Security, and in 1945 he was consultant on dental study for the Bureau o f Research and Statistics, Social Security Board.
