New Patents cooling the medical sharps are encapsulated in plastic and foil, as well as being sterile such that the container and contents may be discarded with ordinary waste products. The dry heat generator conveniently may be placed in a medical office or the like and is microprocessor controlled to obtain the desired end products. The processor additionally controls an electrical interlock system whereby the heat generator unit may not be opened until an entire heat cycle has been completed, and the waste products have cooled to a safe temperature.

An integral, vacuum operated, package system for collecting and transporting waste liquids from, e.g., a defrosted freezer, sink, bathtub, or water fountain, to a vacuum transport conduit connected to a vacuum collection station. The package system preferably includes a collection sump, sensor valve, controller valve, vacuum volume, and vacuum valve, which operatively communicate with each other by means of applied differential pressure to withdraw waste liquid from the collection sump and pass it through an opened vacuum valve during a transport cycle. The package system is compact, portable, and easily installed and maintained, and may be concealed in most applications, since it requires a mere volume generally measuring 12"'8"'31/2.

5257297 SYSTEM FOR MONITORING THE RADIOACTIVITY OF LIQUID WASTE Ralph Reda, Frank W Cloudman, Ralph Furches, Ronald V Ryan, Joel Pickett assigned to General Electric Company A system for monitoring the radioactivity of a liquid waste stream includes a pair of tanks into which the liquid waste stream is directed during alternating fill cycles. At the conclusion of each fill cycle, the liquid waste is recirculated through the chamber of a radioactivity monitor. A pair of opposed radiation detectors, external to the chamber, generate activity measurements to a controller indicative of the radionuclide concentration levels in the liquid waste. The tanks are then emptied either to the environment or back to a decontamination facility for further processing depending on the indicated radionuclide concentration level. System operation, including periodic servicing of the monitor, is automatically coordinated by the controller to avoid interruption of the liquid waste stream filling the tanks.

5259553 INTERIOR ATMOSPHERE CONTROL SYSTEM Jia-Ming Shyu, ,atumhO assigned to Norm Pacific Automation Corp An interior atmosphere control system contains a group of sensors to detect/measure indoor and outdoor air temperature, humidity, air pressure, oxygen content, carbon-dioxide content, static electric charge, indoor wall temperature, sound and light. These measured results, through a signal transfer interface, are sent to a microcomputer which also accepts a user's command as input data through a user's interface. The microcomputer, based on a monitor/control program and data prestored in its memory unit, the sensed values, and the user's command, will then execute the necessary calculation, comparison and decision, and output adequate time variant control signals, through an output interface, to actuate a series of actuators to adjust the indoor temperature, humidity, air pressure, oxygen content, carbon-dioxide content, wind speed, static electric charge, magnetic field, sound, odor, and light which will generate different atmospheric modes, for example, to make people feel comfortable, refreshed, awakened, energetic, sleepy, uneasy, or even frightened. Above all, these feelings are promoted on the basis of the natural balance of human body, such as heat release and perspiration, by adjusting, the room temperature, humidity, wind speed and other factors.
