Peer review report 2 on “Total or partial vertebrectomy for lung cancer invading the spine”

1. Original submission 1.1. Recommendation Minor Revision. 1.2. Comments to the author Thank you to the author for submitting this case series regarding vertebrectomy for Ca Lung. This series provided interesting insight into a difficult procedure but I think that certain issues need to be addressed before publication. General - The quality of English severely hampered the flow of the article please correct this throughout the article Introduction - Please provide statistics regarding mortality and poor outcomes regarding this procedure Materials and Methods - I feel that Figure 1 would be more suitable here with the explanation of the surgical procedure

Results - De-identified patient demographic information is useful here - The table will suffice, the explanation is a bit confusing. The useful things are things like average operation duration, negative outcomes etc - Was there anything statistically significant worthy of mentioning? The statistical analysis was mentioned but I cannot see anything that had a statistical test done to it Discussion - The first paragraph is very repetitive, please re-phrase - Further works? - This is a very short discussion, and there is literature that is much more recent than what is referenced. Please discuss the options of treatment, the different possibilities for surgical procedures etc. Similarly, the referenced literature was not really discussed - What are the strengths and limitations of the case series?
