Professor Wolfgang Tremel
We are pleased to announce the addition of Professor Wolfgang Tremel of the Institut fu¨r Anorganische Chemie und Analytische Chemie of the University of Mainz, Germany, as an associate editor of the Journal of Solid State Chemistry. Professor Tremel’s research interests focus on solid-state chemistry of chalcogenides, nanoparticle research, magnetic oxides, combinatorial methods applied to the synthesis of intermetallics, and nucleation and crystallization at organic–inorganic interfaces. Professor Tremel adds to the body of editors at the Journal of Solid State Chemistry just in time as we cope with an increasingly rising number of manuscripts from a broad set of scientific areas that the journal has an interest in. His expertise in synthesis, characterization, and reactivity of both bulk and nanoscale solids will be important in helping us attain our goal of publishing high-quality manuscripts in these growing areas of solid-state chemistry. We welcome Wolfgang to our team and wish him much success in this new role. We look forward to working with him on the continued development of the journal.
