Discussions of national information policies and government information in electronic formats continued to dominate journal articles published during May 1988 through October 1988. During the last six months several journals published theme issues devoted to the provision of government information and the issues surrounding information policies. They have been included in this bibliography. This column was prepared from a manual scan of library and information science journals; printed indexes which included Current Index to Journals in Education, Resources in Education, Public Affairs Information Service Bulletin; selected database files available through Wilsonline; and Information Access’s laser disk index InfoTrac and R. R. Bowker’s Books in Print on CD-ROM. Citations are to printed articles, recently published books and reports, and essays from collected works. Book reviews and short news items have been excluded. Items are listed once under their primary topic and annotations are provided where the content of the publications cannot be adequately discerned from the title. Previous issues of Government Publications Review (Volume 4, Number 2; Volume 7A, Number 6) have contained retrospective bibliographies of periodical literature in the field. Contributions are welcome.
