Sealants gain approval Two U l t r a s e a l I n t e r n a t i o n a l m a t e r i a l s for t h e sealing of porosity in castings a n d components, Ultraseal PC 504/66 a n d Ultraseal MX, have been recognised u n d e r t h e materials p r o g r a m m e of U n d e r w r i t e r s Inc, USA. Both materials are therefore a p p r o v e d for t h e sealing of porosity in c o m p o n e n t s intended for use in contact with fuel oil, kerosene, n a p h t h a , p e t r o l / gasoline or methanol, or with blends of 85% gasoline with 15% m e t h a n o l or 15% ethanol, a n d of 15% gasoline with 85% methanol.

Pometon SpA (formerly Polveri E Metalli), of Italy, will supply Alcan with a range of grades in a p p a r e n t density from 1.0 to 2.6 g/cm 3. A meeting entitled 'Rapid Solidification a n d Associated Technologies' will be held on 16-18 December 1991 at t h e University of Nottingham, UK, organised by t h e University's D e p a r t m e n t o f Materials Engineering and Materials Design. Papers a n d contributions are invited from academic and industrial laboratories (deadline for abstracts 31 October 1991). See
