MEETING REPORT

Inauguration of the Chugoku-Shikoku Child Neurology Meeting, Japan Shunsuke Ohtahara, MD Department of Child Neurology, Okayama University Medical School, Okayama, Japan

As members of the Japanese Society of Child Neurology (JSCN) increase steadily reaching 241 in the ChugokuShikoku area, the demand for its regional meeting has become stronger. Recently, the Chugoku-Shikoku Child Neurology Society (C-S CNS) was organized at the proposition of two members of the Board of Trustees of the JSCN, Shunsuke Ohtahara, MD (Okayama) and Kenzo Takeshita, MD (Yonago). Its board consists of all the members of the Council of the JSCN in this area. Its first meeting was held at the Okayama Plaza Hotel, Okayama, on August 11, 1990.

In this first meeting two memorial special lectures were presented without free communications. "Fundamentals of central nervous system imaging-relationship between development of brain and its vasculature" by Dr Toshio Okudera (Department of Neuroradiology, St Mary's Hospital (Kurume), and "Somatosensory evoked potentials: Historical development and clinical application" by Professor Jun Kimura (Department of Neurology, University of Kyoto School of Medicine). Hence CoS CNS will have its regular meeting annually, the last Saturday of July, to have the opportunity for satisfactory discussions on interesting or problematic cases. Participation of all the physicians in any field who are interested in child neurology will be welcomed, besides the regular members of the JSCN.
