a n d character of the E M R spectra of the polymer bears evidence of the preservation of conjugation along the macromolecule and of the presence of unpaired electrons in the ground state of the substance. A t ordinary temperature the aromatic polytriazenes are practically isolators, b u t their electroconductivity considerably increases with increase in temperature. THE products of the thermal polymerization of phenylacetylene have been investigated. The polymer has a chain length of 6-17 monomer units. All specimens exhibit durable AMR spectra in the form of a narrow lone singlet without hyperfine structure. W i t h elevation of temperature the mean molecular weight of the polymer fails and the E M R signal increases. A t temperatures of 400-450 ° carbonization takes place, accompanied b y a sharp increase in the E M R signal to 1019-1030 active particles per gram. STUDIES IN COORDINATION POLYMERS--VII. THE synthesis and properties of homogeneous and mixed coordination polymers based on quinizarine and the metals magnesium, calcium beryllium, zinc and copper, zinc and cadmiura, a n d zinc and beryllium; as wed as mixed coordination polymers on the basis of quinizarine and 4,4'-bis-(acetoacetyl) phenyl ether with the metals beryllium, zinc, manganese, cobalt, nickel, magnesium and copper have been described. TRITYL1KETHACRYLATEhas been synthesized by reacting' silver methacrylate with triphenylmethylchloromethane. The ability o f the product to polymerize has been investigated and its polymers have been characterized. *THE APPLICATION OF NUCLEAR MAGNETIC RESONANCE TO STUDIES OF RUBBERLIKE FLUORINE-CONTAINING POLYMERS

THE temperature dependence of the second moments and of the width of the nuclear magnetic resonance lines of protons and fluorine have been determined for a number of various fluorine-containing copolymers over the range --150 ° to 90°C. Temperature regions have been found where the motion of whole segments of the polymers and the rotation of separate functional groups m a y be observed. The incorporation of ester groups into the polymer leads to considerable augmentation of the mobility of the chain. Comparison of the theoretically calculated second moments with the experimental values allowed the structure to be established of the trifluorochloroethylene and vinylidene fluoride polymer.
